In what appears a deft move to swell his political camp and weaken that of his adversary, serial governorship aspirant and a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress in Imo State, Senator Ifeanyi Arararume has poached some aides of Governor Rochas Okorocha.

Last year, a former Commissioner for Information and later Tourism, Pension Matters and IGR, Vitalis Ajumbe dumped the Governor’s camp for that of Senator Araraume.

However, this latest development is coming on the heels of reports that some aides of the Governor have been holding secret meetings with his political opponents. This is causing ripples within the Rescue Mission camp as suspicion and distrust seem to have crept in.

Reports reaching this online newspaper indicate that Araraume’s camp has successfully poached an aide on ICT to the Governor, Mr. Ikenna Ogbonna.  Ogbonna, according to reports has switched allegiance to Araraume’s camp.

This newspaper gathered that more aides may follow suit in the days to come as some of them are aligned to the governorship ambition of some aspirants within and outside Okorocha’s camp.

An Owerri based journalist,Mr.  Modestus Nwankpa in an article had revealed that one of the major factors that may work against the Rescue Mission before the Primaries in APC are some aides of the Governor in his camp

He wrote “The first set of forces the Governor will confront are his internal supporters. I am afraid the Governor may be co-habiting with a lot of unfriendly friends posing as supporters right inside his camp. Inside his house, his supporters are sharply divided among different gubernatorial hopefuls depending on their individual political interests.

“They fall among those who are supporting the Deputy Governor Eze Madumere, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the SGI, jude Ejiogu, Chike Okafor including Chucks Ololo. And all of them are just waiting for the Governor to just announce his preferred choice before they start their in-house fight which may likely weaken the Governor before he even comes out to face the other category. There is already a cold war and the Governor is not helping matters with his body language”
