Those seeking to take over from Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State within his Rescue Mission Camp have intensified their plans by setting up  structures to oil their governorship ambitions.

The Governor is yet to announce a successor though he gave a clue in December 2017 that he has three persons in mind to take over from him in 2019.

This newspaper had observed that since the beginning of the year 2018, there have been upbeat of activities in the camps of some of those eying to take over from the Governor when he leaves office. For instance, the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu who has been widely speculated to be Okorocha’s anointed for the plum job has set up a corporate office of his Ugwumba Movement.

The movement which has continued to grow in leaps and bounds also have similar offices in almost all the 27 local governments across the state.

A former Secretary to the State Government, Sir Jude Ejiogu who is also interested in the Governorship recently unveiled vehicles suspected to be for campaign purposes. Ejiogu cruised  around town with the branded vehicles in December last year as a test run for future campaign activities.

The Deputy Governor of the State, Prince Eze Madumere aside holding extensive consultations with his loyalists and supporters during the yuletide has lately received backing to his ambition from concerned interest groups and organizations who are now publicly drumming support for his guber bid.

Madumere has shied away from setting up campaign structures. No Reason has been given for this but a source said he is avoiding the wrath of his boss who has not given anyone a go ahead order to do so.

Reports available to this medium further indicate that things have gone sour between the two camps of the Chief Of Staff and the Deputy Governor
