The entire people of Obodoukwu Ancient Kingdom in Ideato North LGA of Imo State on Thursday Jan.4th 2018 witnessed the presence of the authorities of the Nigerian Police Force led by the Imo State Commissioner of Police,Chris Okey Ezike for the official commissioning ceremony of a Divisional Police Station solely built by an illustrious son of the area and a business tycoon,Chief Uche Umeh (Nwajiugo)
Welcoming the Police officers at the event, the President General of Obodoukwu,Chief Barr.Ben Obidiegwu thanked Chief Uche Umeh for remembering home by providing adequate security.
He also extolled him for his efforts towards the development of the community, assuring that his community shall always partner with the police.
He called on other well meaning sons and daughters of Obodoukwu to emulate the kind gesture of Chief Umeh whom he described as a worthy son.
Some of the Traditional Rulers who witnessed the event include: a retired Commissioner of Police,HRM Igwe Emmanuel Obiako (Igwedioranma of Umuome Obodoukwu),HRH Eze Edmond Dim Eze Agbakuruibe (Obi II of Obodoukwu),and HRH Eze Jude Obidiegwu ( Odenigbo II of Ikwuano Autonomous Community in Ideato North and other respected traditional Rulers from the clan.
In his speech,the Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Chris Okey Ezike expressed satisfaction with the initiative of the donor describing the act as a monumental achievement and a step in a right direction. He commended him and prayed God Almighty to continue to replenish his finances.
He described security as every thing, stating that without law and order,there would not be any development.
The Police Commissioner advised the people of the area to learn how to appreciate those who have touched lives positively most especially when it concerns the safety of lives and properties of the masses.
