Key leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Okigwe zone have thrown their weight of support to Imo State Commissioner of Information, Prof Nnamdi Obiareri as they have resolved to ensure his emergence as Senator for Okigwe zone in 2019.
Obiareri had received the endorsement of Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha recently.
The party leaders who made the resolution at the Amagu-Ihube palatial country home of Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri ,at a formal declaration of his senatorial ambition, noted that the governor who is the father of the party and leader has their collective support in endorsing the erudite scholar and university Don.
They maintained that the Governor Okorocha who has provided the desired leadership required in governance is in a better position to endorse candidates of APC at all levels in the state ahead of the general elections.
According to them ,the state commissioner for Information,Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri has all the qualities and qualifications that will make him to win the senatorial election for their party and also provide the much cherished representation that has eluded Okigwe zone in the past.
The leaders who decried that the efforts of the state governor and party members in electing an APC senator into the senate at the last election has failed to yield the desired result as the senator has remained silent and missing within the party at all the levels in the state.
Leading the party hierarchy to the declaration, Chief Lucky Uche,the APC party chairman in Okigwe who maintained that the aspiration of Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri to go to the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly for Okigwe zone which has been endorsed by the governor is now a party program for 2019, sounded it loud and clear that APC in Okigwe is not only in full support of the endorsement of the choice of Obiaraeri but will work as a team to deliver him at the polls.
Speakers after Speaker including Pastor,Frank Onwumere,Hon.Emeka Okoronkwo,Hon.Chukwunonye Irouno,Pastor Mrs Angel Orji, Chief Max Ikokwu,Hon Ilochonwu Bennett, Nze Nwokoro Duke,Hon.Sunny Chiadi,Barr Emma Nwosu, Hon.Ejiogu Charles among were in total agreement that the governor’s choice on Obiaraeri is a welcome one that cannot be contradicted by any right thinking of APC in the state.
Earlier the senatorial hopeful and the celebral legal giant,Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri who thanked Governor Okorocha for finding him suitable and credible to be endorsed for plum position in Okigwe zone,declared to use the position to serve humanity and God if elected.
The Information Commissioner who at the colourful event that parades who is who in Okigwe APC,reiterated the decision of party leaders to continue to accord every necessary support due to the administration of Okorocha,explained clearly that he has what it takes to provide a new representation at the Senate for Okigwe zone.
The highlights of the declaration ceremony that has to form a positive discourse within the state is a resolution urging President Buhari to seek a re- election in 2019 and a vote absolutely confidence on the Rescue Mission administration of Governor Okorocha.
