A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Traditional Prime Minister of Umuokanne Community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, Chief Charles Orie has said there are vacancies in all elective positions in Imo State. He however stated that only President Muhammadu Buhari’s presidential seat is not vacant.

Orie said there is need to support the President in his re- election bid in 2019 because his government and the APC has done well.

Orie whose brother is a member of the Imo State House of Assembly also declared his brother’s seat vacant.

He spoke when an APC chieftain, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume paid him a New Year visit in Umuokannes in Ohaji/Egbema LGA.

The Grand patron of Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta Supreme Elders Council said the people of the Niger Delta region in Imo State have been marginalized by  present and past state governments, but assured that in 2019, the people would vote in bulk for the most credible candidates.

On his younger brother’s position, he said “there are vacancies in all the elective positions in Imo State including governorship, even that of my younger brother who is representing Ohaji/Egbema State Constituency, Hon.Emma Orie”.

Some of the leaders of the area who spoke under the aegis of Ohaji/Egbema,Oguta Supreme Elders Council are: the Chairman, Hon. Henry Nwabueze from Izombe, founder of the Young Democratic Party,YDP, the Public Relations Officer, Hon.Emeka Uzoka collectively said that they would not vote along party lines rather they shall roll out their votes in bulk for anyone who will not tamper with their 13% oil derivation.

Meanwhile, Senator.Ifeanyi Araraume,while addressing the people of Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta and Oru-West Federal Constituency at Umuokanne urged them to continue to support President Buhari’s second term bid, but charged them to always hold Governor Rochas Okorocha responsible for their underdevelopment, negligence and marginalization in all ramifications.
