Elder statesman, Chief Innocent Diala Nwoga has retired from active politics.
Speaking to this online newspaper in Owerri, the former Minister said he is no longer comfortable with the manner politicking is done particularly in Imo State.
Nwoga a former Minister of Establishment and management services during the interim government of Chief Ernest Shonekan, however said he is very much available to offer his advise to upcoming politicians.
” I have done my bit and I m a little uncomfortable with the way politics is being done now. But I have not quit but just retired in order to make available my advise to the younger ones. I m also available for any form of repair” he said.
Nwoga was the pioneer chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Imo State. He led the party to its first and only electoral victory in 1999 in Imo State wining the governorship election and majority of seats in the Imo State House of Assembly for the PDP.
He was later appointed Chairman, Imo State Elders Advisory Council by the Ikedi Ohakim administration.
