The Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo in Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State last Saturday held its 38th Matriculation ceremony for the 2017/2018 Academic Year for National Diploma (ND) and the Higher National Diploma (HND) students.
The event took place at the Polytechnic’s Pavilion and was witnessed many respected dignitaries including parents, wards and guardians of fresh students who were all in attendance to celebrate with their loved ones.
In his welcome address, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Rev.Fr.Wence Madu expressed satisfaction with the high level of academic achievements recorded by the institution over the years and promised to continue to maintain the pace.
He thanked the government of Imo State under the leadership of the Rescue Mission Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha for his support towards achieving the academic giant strides of the school.
The Rector while speaking to the newly admitted intakes advised the students to take their studies very serious as it would enable them become responsible to the society.
He cautioned them not to engage in any ugly or unlawful activities that may truncate their future careers.
Madu called on them to shun cultism and prostitution but rather engage themselves into making good results at the end of the academic session.
He assured the students of security, safety and necessary protection but encouraged them to study harder for their interest.
