Contrary to claims in the media that the All Progressive Congress, APC may adopt a governorship candidate, Imo State Chairman of the party, Hilary Eke has said there is no such plan

Eke was quoted by an Owerri based local tabloid at a party function at Ahiazu Mbaise local government Area to have said that all elective positions in the party including the governorship are very much open for members and aspirants.
Reacting to the open support by Governor Rochas Okorocha for the governorship ambition of his Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu, the party Chairman said such is a private decision which does not reflect the position of the party.
He however said the Governor has the right to support anyone.
Eke said the party have not held its primaries, but said there is nothing unusual in the Governor’s suggestion for a mock primary.
“ My Governor is democratic. He cannot propose anything like Mock Primary but it is still nothing unusual. It is you the pressmen that are making it sound unusual” he said
