Colonel Joseph Achuzia, a famous Biafran warlord, has died at the age of 90 years.
Affectionately called “Hannibal” he was a leader of the secessionist battalion during the Nigerian civil war.
He died on Monday, 26th February,2018 at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba. Reports said he was on admission at the intensive care unit of the hospital 12 days to his death.
The Late Colonel later became a General in the secessionist army after serving as a commander in the late Colonel Phillip Effiong’s brigade. He earned the nickname “Hannibal” after he led successful attacks against the Nigerian Army in Nsukka and Onitsha.
