A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Imo State, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume has congratulated the national chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, members of the National Working Committee and the entire executives of the party at the ward, Local Government, State and national levels for the overwhelming resolution of the National Executive Committee of the party to extend their tenures for another one year.
In a statement he personally signed and made available to the media, Araraume said the tenure extension “calls for more work for our great party ahead of the forthcoming general elections come 2019″
This newspaper observed that the senator’s camp is in jubilation over the recent extension of the tenure of party officers from the national to the State levels which is the major outcome of the National Executive Committee meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday.
It was gathered that the resolution of the APC NEC may have favoured the senator on the grounds that he may be the biggest beneficiary of the latest decision ostensibly because of his grip on the party structure in the State.
It has been reported in the media that 16 APC Local Government Chairmen are loyal to the Senator which translate to a huge boost to his governorship ambition.
