Hon. Onyenwe who made the call while addressing journalists at the weekend at the school premises shortly after the funeral of one of the school old boys and a promising youthful politician in Nekede, Late Hon. Kelechi Kizito Ajoku whose death attracted crème of notable politicians in Owerri Zone, decried the uninhabitable state of the secondary school after series of good efforts of the governor to remodel and reposition the state primary and secondary schools in the state.

The Youth leader  stated the readiness of YAN Owerri West and Nekede Elite Council to oversee the school renovation for prompt efficiency and service delivery pending when the peoples’ governor will approve the project.
According to him “Our people, the students and the affected school authorities have complained severally to the government through their member representing Owerri West in the Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Victor Ikonne and nothing has been done on it till date”

”Our children are seriously suffering taking their lectures under the harsh weather of continued rain and sun while majority of them have resorted to cultism and youth restiveness”

He regretted the non-presence of Rescue government in Umuoma Nekede autonomous community and lambasted the government representatives from Nekede community whom he said have remained high handed, non-functional and selfish.

Onyenwe had earlier expressed his profound gratitude to the leadership of APC in Owerri West for their steadfastness, trust and confidence reposed on Governor Okorocha a and charged the traditional rulers, youth bodies, women groups and civil liberty organizations in Nekede to join hands with their indigenous IMHA member, Hon. Ikonne to salvage their land for posterity sake.

He  pleaded on behalf of the three arms autonomous communities in Nekede which he said shares the due ownership of the secondary school, for the governor of Imo State to help them fix the school as he has done to other neighbouring schools in the zone and complete the Umuoma/Umualum link road for ease of access and traffic decongestion in the municipality
