Imo State Commissioner of Information and All Progressive Congress (APC) Okigwe zone Senatorial aspirant, Prof Nnamdi Obiareri has received the backing of some youths in Okigwe zone drawn from the six local governments that make up the zone.

Speaking at a solidarity visit to the commissioner, the leader of the group, Hon. Kelechi Iwueze,who is also a commissioner in the Judicial Service Commission said that the entire youths of Okigwe zone have agreed to adopt Obiaraeri as their sole candidate for the position of the Senate, stressing  that the law don  has severally used his positions in the past to uplift the youths of the zone both at state and national levels.

According to the youth leader who described the senatorial hopeful as not only qualified for the plum job, he hinted that Okigwe zone will have a senator that will be visible, articulate, courageous and more importantly knowledgeable in the act of lawmaking when Obiareri is elected to the senate.

“As a law professor of both national and international repute,Obiareri have at his finger tips the necessary legislation that can enhance growth and development of the zone” Iwueze declared.

In his remarks,  the Secretary of Okigwe Local Government Council, Hon.Ndubueze Nwokoro  explained that Prof Obiaraeri is an intellectual giant that needs to be exported to the national level. He stated that the youths of the zone have resolved to work on the Governor’s mandate of which the legal icon is a beneficiary.

Earlier in his speech, Prof  Obiaraeri noted that Governor Rochas Okorocha has removed the garment of shame from Okigwe people. He assured that with Obiareri at the senate the voice of  Okigwe people must be heard and respected at the senate.

He described  Governor Rochas Okorocha as a developmental leader who delight great pleasure in creating other leaders. The highlight of the visit was an outstanding youth friendly award on Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri which he  dedicated to the state governor, Owelle Okorocha whom he described as a phenomenal leader.
