The Owerri Municipal Chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC have explained why it resolved to back the governorship ambition of Chief of Staff, Government House, Uche Nwosu.
Speaking at Nwosu’s endorsement held at International Conference Centre, Owerri, Hon. Lugard Osuji, member representing Owerri municipal State constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, said Owerri municipal APC backed Nwosu because Governor Rochas Okorocha had sited over 80% of capital projects of his government in the municipality and the people have no reason not to support the consolidation of the Rescue Mission.
In his remarks, Commissioner of Finance, Hon. Obinna Mbata said Nwosu is young and vibrant and will surely continue where Okorocha stopped if given the mandate to do so. A member of the Police Service Commission, Hon. Gladys Amuneke described Uche Nwosu as their adopted son and will get the support of Owerri municipal APC to emerge the next Governor of Imo State.
In his remarks, the LGA Party chairman, Chief Ebere Anyasike described Governor Okorocha as epitome of quality and sincere leadership and therefore must be supported to ensure his legacies continue now and after his tenure.
“’I encourage all the party faithful in Owerri Municipal to rally round this young man so that we will not suffer defeat, he said. He further noted that Owerri Municipal APC cannot be divided as all their executives are ready to deliver on the mandate.
