The remains of late traditional music maestro, Ichie Mezuo( aka Pericoma) will be buried on April 9, 2018.
The funeral arrangements was released by the family after a meeting at the late music icon’s country home at Ndiogbuonyeoma Ndibeuche which was attended by the children, extended family and associates of the departed songstar.
A statement signed by Barr Uche Ohia, Chairman Media and Publicity sub committee of the funeral programme, stated that the “Funeral Programme, as announced by the family spokesman, Prof. Chinedu Uba (who stood in for HRH Eze Prof. Green O. Nwankwo) is as follows:
*Sunday, April 8, 2018 – Wakekeeping/Night of Tributes
*Monday, April 9, 2018 – Funeral/Condolence visits
*Tuesday, April 10, 2018 – Condolence Visits continue
*Wednesday, April 11, 2018 – Ipa Ota.
“The family requested all and sundry to join them in bidding farewell to their great son who dedicated his life to the promotion of Igbo Heritage. They gave special thanks to the LOC, the Friends & Fans of Pericomo and others who had given support to ensure the success of the funeral ceremony.
“Mazi Uche Ohia (Ochinanwata Izuogu na Iheme) & Chief Ikenna Aniche (Nkenke Enyi Izuogu 1 – 12) who represented the stakeholders assured the family that all hands were on deck to ensure that Pericomo was given a Hero’s Funeral.
