Kidnapped Abia State Based Blogger Regains Freedom

Abia State blogger, Mr. Ngozi Onwukwe, who was abducted by unknown gunmen has been released.

Speaking to newsmen in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, Onwukwe who is the publisher of Abacityblog.com said he was kidnapped along Ikot Ekpene road, Umuahia by three men with Sienna car and was taken away to an unknown destination.

According to him, he was blindfolded by his abductors and was on Saturday dumped at isis gate market in Umuahia by his abductors.

He said ”I was kidnapped by three men with sienna car. They asked me about the news report I wrote on the Chairman of isiala ngwa north local government area, Ginger Onwusibe. I told them the sources of the story. They took me away and this saturday morning, I was rescued and dumped at isi gate market.

In his remarks,  the National President of Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Mr. Eme James Anyalekwa has described the abduction of the publisher of Abacityblog.com, Ngozi Onwukwe as barbaric and senseless, wondering how a journalist would be kidnapped while discharging his legitimate duty.
