Two Owerri Based Journalists Escape Death

Two Owerri based journalists, Mr. Chidiebube Okeoma and Mr. Kelechi Uzoma at the weekend escaped death by the whiskers. They were attacked by hoodlums.

Mr.Okeoma who writes for PUNCH Newspaper narrated his ordeal on his Facebook wall.

He wrote” I was attacked and almost beaten to coma by fifteen hoodlums in Amaraku in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo state on Sunday night.

” They pretended as passengers without I and my colleague ,Kelechi Uzoma not knowing that they were armed robbers and only waiting for us to board. Women were among them. I have never been so beaten in my life .

“Help me thank the Imo State commissioner of Police,Chris Ezike ,whose quickest intervention led to the arrest of three of the suspects the next day .They are cooling their heels at federal Special Anti Robbery Squad of the command .

“The doctor has recommended xray and scan which shall be carried out tomorrow.

“After dispossessing me of three of my phones,huge amount of money and other valuables, the urchins kept beating me for God knows how long” he wrote.
