In what appears a veiled defence for the wave of endorsements for Chief of Staff, Government House, Owerri, Uche Nwosu, Governor Rochas Okorocha has said the endorsements cannot be adjudged undemocratic as it  never contravened any known law or ordinance.

According to a statement by Sam Onwuemedo, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, endorsements is a public statement or action showing support of something or somebody. He said it is surprising that some people have been losing sleep over the several endorsements Uche Nwosu has been getting.

On the stance of a group, Imo Restoration Group, a group within the APC in Imo State, the Governor described them as political coordinators of governorship aspirants.

“Those who signed the Communiqué at Imerienwe are habitual Coordinators of guber aspirants. They cannot Contest election. Some of them were brought into Politics by Governor Okorocha. And today, they have become Coordinators, and none of them had won his booth in the past elections. They have no electoral value to add to any party or aspirant. They are Political Consumers and not Political Producers. People should ignore them” he said.

It would be recalled that Imo Restoration Group within the APC had yesterday kicked against the endorsement of Uche Nwosu  by some Local Government chapters of the party. Spokesman of the group and a former commissioner in Okorocha’s government, TOE Ekechi, called for a halt in the wave of endorsements.
