In a bid to stem unforeseen circumstances, the Imo State House of Assembly on the strength of a motion sponsored by member representing Owerri municipal state constituency, Hon. Lugard Osuji have resolved to investigate the activities of herdsmen in Okigwe area and other parts of the State.
Mover of the motion on the floor of the House, Hon.Osuji and other lawmakers spoke on the need to take proactive measures to ensure the protection of lives and properties of Imolites.
Lawmakers in their various contributions maintained that the constitution allows Nigerians to live and carry out their businesses without fear of molestation and intimidation in any part of the country, but will not allow any group to course havoc or disrupt the relative peace being experienced in the state.
The House thereafter resolved to urge the governor through the peace and conflict resolution committee to investigate the activities and movement of herdsmen and gun men in Okigwe especially and other parts of Imo State.
