Imo Politics: Maja Party National Officer Kicks Against Reckless Endorsements

The National Organizing Secretary of Mass Action Joint Alliance (MAJA), Engr. Promise Nwadigos, has urged Imolites to desist from reckless endorsement of aspirants for political positions which does not reflect the reality on ground.

The youthful National Organizing secretary from Imo state stated this at the weekend during the congress of the party held at the state secretariat of the party in Owerri.

Engr Nwadigos who described governance in Imo State as counter-productive observed that the unnecessary endorsements are driven by hunger and poverty. He therefore urged Imo people to turn their ashes to beauty in order to occupy Douglas House in 2019.

Speaking on the congress, the national organizing secretary explained that the peaceful manner in which the congress was conducted shows that MAJA party will occupy Douglass House in 2019.

“We are on ground, financially bold and strategic. If there is anything that can make a party wins election, we have it”, he said.

He described MAJA as a house that cannot be shaken, a party of integrity and positivism pushing to occupy Imo Government House. He urged INEC to ensure that votes count while warning the incumbent government not to attempt rigging the election.

The state party chairman, Hon. Reuben Obijiaku, who thanked INEC officials for coming to monitor the congress said MAJA party has everything in place to excel and will always work in line with electoral rules.

Following a call by Mr. John Chukwu, chairman of the Congress Planning Committee for the elections of the ward, local government and state executives, Barr L.L. Duru, Okigwe zonal chairman, moved a motion for harmonization of the list. He was seconded by Calistus Ugwumba from Ohaji/Egbema and the list was adopted.

Those who emerged included Hon, Reuben Obijiaku, state party chairman; Dr Mrs Ngozi Eziada Franca Osuji emerged as the state women leader, while Chief Joseph Ukpabia is the state secretary among others.

The leader of INEC monitoring team, Sir Victor Nwokeabia, assured members of MAJA party that votes will count.

He said that the Resident Electoral Commissioner is a no-nonsense man who has put every measure in place to check rigging. He enjoined the people to obtain their Voters Registration Card and vote according to their conscience
