*Celebrate International Day*

Social workers in Imo State have called on the Imo State government to establish a home for lunatics in the State.They made the call in Owerri as part of their celebration of International social workers day.
Operating under the aegis of Social Welfare Workers Association, Imo State chapter, the group joined their counterparts from across the world to celebrate their special day with the theme”Promoting Community Development and Environmental Sustainability”
In her speech when members of the association in their numbers visited the Head of Service, Callistus Ekenze, the chairperson of the Association in Imo State, Mrs Pat Nsofor called on the Imo State government to as a matter of importance establish a home for mentally challenged persons in the State.
Mrs. Nsofor expressed delight that the Association in the state have chosen to join their counterparts across the world to appreciate their passion towards making the society a better place as social welfare workers.
She described their operations as tedious and hazardous but maintained that they have collectively chosen to serve the public. Mrs. Nsofor flanked by the Association’s Federal Representative, Barr.Mrs.C.C.Igwe,who is also the Legal Adviser to the Union assured the State government of their effectiveness and commitment.
In his response while receiving members of the Association, the Head of Service, Imo State, Mrs. Callistus Ekenze commended them for joining their counterparts all over the world to celebrate the Social Welfare Workers on their 2018 International Day.
