A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress in Imo State, APC, Chief Vitalis Ajumbe has Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has no right to decide who takes over the reins of governance of the State.
Ajumbe who spoke in Isiala Ngwa in Abia State at the end of a function of the APC noted that the Governor has the right to endorse whoever he want, but cannot decide for Imo people who will be their next governor.
The former commissioner in the State, said Imo people reserve the right to choose who their next Governor will be at the appropriate time, stating that Okorocha cannot afford to foist his son-in law as governor of the State in 2019.
”Governor Okorocha has the right to endorse any person. As a governor he has his structures. He has a right to endorse any person within his group”.
“But what I’m trying to say is that he cannot impose that on Imo people and APC. So, if he endorses Uche Nwosu, he has the right to endorse whoever he wants to support.
“That does not mean at the end, that person will fly. No. Imo people will decide at the poll. Let him endorse. But Imo people will elect” he said
The APC chieftain expressed confidence that the APC primary election in the state would be free and fair, devoid of malpractices.
“The primaries is going to be free and fair. The delegates’ election will be free and fair. That very day Imo people will speak and Rochas”. he stated
