In a message to mark the Easter celebrations, Rt. Hon. Ihedioha said the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ which is being commemorated by Christians all over the world, symbolizes for Imo people at this time, the positive turn around that awaits the state in no distant time.

He called on the people of the State and indeed Nigerians not to lose the essence of the Easter season in the joy of the celebrations but to reflect on the life and virtues of Jesus as well as the resurrection power of the saviour of mankind.

While urging Imolites, particularly politicians to eschew violence, embrace peace and tolerance especially as political activities increase, he noted that, at the end of the day, the collective interest, welfare, progress and stability of the state is what is paramount.

According to him, “this Easter celebration is symbolic and indeed portends a lot for Imo State, as we have to critically reflect our common destiny with a view to taking advantage of yet another defining opportunity to liberate the state from misgovernance and usher it into a realm of a transparent, accountable and prosperous all-inclusive government of the people geared towards rebuilding the State.

“Just like the death and resurrection of our dear Lord Jesus Christ transformed mankind into redemption and glory, our hope and resolve is that Imo State will equally witness a positive change,” Chief Ihedioha said.
