Fireworks have continued unabated in the Imo State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC with the State Chairman, Hilary Eke kicking against the wave of endorsements for Governor Rochas Okorocha’s son in law, Uche Nwosu.

Imo State APC Chairman, Hilary Eke was quoted to have kicked against the wave of endorsements for Nwosu on the grounds that the party has no anointed candidate, promising to provide a level playing ground and the enabling environment during the primaries.

He said only candidates that emerged victorious will be supported by the party and there will be no room for imposition of candidates at any level.

“We have promised all aspirants a level playing ground in the primaries, only those that emerged from the primaries will be supported by the Party. There will be no room for imposition of candidates. Those trying to do same are on their own”. He was quoted by Leadership newspaper.

Eke said the party has not held its primaries and stated that is only when such exercise is carried out, nobody has the right to claim candidacy of the party.

In a related development, some leaders of the party in Owerri zone at a function in Owerri pledged their support to th Okorocha government

Led  by Chief Charles Amadi,  they disassociated itself from a group, called Restoration Group in the party led by TOE Ekechi and reaffirmed their loyalty to the Rescue mission government of Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

The Ekechi led group had opposed the endorsement of Uche Nwosu by some local government chapters of the party.
