Following the wave of reactions that trailed the endorsement of the governorship ambition of Chief of Staff, Government House, Uche Nwosu by member representing Aboh Mbaise State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Mike Iheanetu, the lawmaker has opened on what really transpired.
According to a report published by an Owerri based local tabloid, Hon. Iheanatu said “ Uche Nwosu is a young man that I like and admire but that does not mean I should mortgage my conscience, and do the absurd”
He was further quoted “Governor Rochas Okorocha has performed creditably in virtually all areas and Uche Nwosu is the only person that has the capacity to continue his good works and take Imo to the next level”.
The lawmaker who is of the peoples Democratic Party, PDP came in the eye of the storm at the weekend after pictures surfaced on the social media where he endorsed the governorship ambition of Uche Nwosu, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
It would be recalled that 20 members of the Imo State House of Assembly had announced their endorsement of Uche Nwosu’s governorship bid.
Hon. Iheanetu was quoted to have described the endorsement as a “beer parlour” arrangement only for pictures raising Uche Nwosu’s hands as a mark of endorsement came up online
