Imo Police Command Display Mopped Up Recovered Arms And Ammunition

The Imo State Police Command, Owerri has paraded some crime suspects and displayed arms and ammunition in line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police which directed State Police formations across the country to embark on such exercise.

Speaking to newsmen in Owerri, the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike expressed optimism that the recovered arms and ammunition from wrong hands will reduce the number of arms and ammunition in circulation in Imo State.

He said it will also minimize thuggery activities in the coming 2019 elections.

The Commissioner stated that since the beginning of the mop up operations, the number of arms and ammunition in circulation in Imo State had drastically reduced,. He urged members of the public still in possession of such arms to return them to the State Command Recovery Task Force.

Some criminal suspects were also paraded by the  State Police Command.
