Chairmen of the two political parties, Isreal Anyiam of the Democratic Party and Mazi Chukwuemeka Elias gave the warning after a stakeholders meeting held at the premises of the headquarters of the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission, ISIEC.

They cautioned the APC to drop the idea of rigging the local election or resort to manipulating its outcome in whatever guise, advising the ruling party to shelve such plans as they would resist it.

They  pledged to work with ISIEC if they show commitment that they will conduct a credible election.

Reacting to their comments, ISIEC Chairman, Hon. Ethelbert Ibeabuchi assured the Political parties that the Commission after extensive consultation is ready to deliver and urged them to have confidence in the commission to hold a free and fair local government election.

The ISIEC Chairman enjoined them to play their  part by working hard because power is not given but taken and urged them to co-operate  with the commission to have a smooth conduct of the polls.
