For the first time in history,  more than 22 million Nigerians in the Diaspora will converge in London, United Kingdom from 25th – 28th July, 2018 to mark this year’s Diaspora Day.

This was revealed by Barr Sir Chibuzo Ubochi, KSC who is the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) United Kingdom UK where the event will  take place.

Barr.Ubochi who noted that the 2018 Diaspora Day is a historic event as it is the first time Nigerian Diaspora Day will be held outside Nigeria.

He explained that“representatives of over 22 Million Nigerians in Diaspora have confirmed their attendance to this momentous Nigerian Diaspora Day Global Conference which will retool the Diaspora Engagement Development Action Plan for Nigeria”.

The Imo State born NIDO UK Chairman explained that this year’s NIDO historic event will focus on“Constituting the Nigerian Diaspora Commission as a prerequisite for re-positioning and developing a roadmap for Diaspora Development Action Plan for Nigeria”

He said “During this conference, Nigerians in Diaspora will take strong and binding positions on all matters about Nigeria including the 2019 elections, leadership and good governance in Nigeria, constituting the Nigeria Diaspora Commission, voting in an election from abroad, national security among other pressing national issues for the collective good and benefit of all Nigerians at home or in the Diaspora”.

“The Diaspora holds the key to 2019 elections in Nigeria”, hence NIDO’s formidability, capacity, ability, intelligence and deep concern for the peace, progress and development of Nigeria.  NIDO has been so concerned about the positive advancement of Nigeria and her citizens for better living” he stated

NIDO, however called on all well meaning Nigerians to be part of the Foundation Laying Global Conference by Nigerians in Diaspora, stressing that names of all active participants will be carved in stones.
