A local tabloid in Owerri had reported that no fewer than 15 of the 21 governorship aspirants in Imo APGA have given up their ambition for Chief Ezeh.

An aide of one of the aspirants (names withheld) when contacted by this newspaper said his principal has nothing to say on the report.

“ We have no reaction on the alleged endorsement” he replied to an inquiry made to this newspaper.

However, Chief Ezeh in a statement pointed out the importance of internal party democracy to the electoral fortunes of every political party.

A statement credited to his media aide, Mr. Collins Opuruozor quoted Mr. Ezeh to have said that transparency in the nomination of candidates is key to ensuring intra party cohesion and in emerging successful at the polls.

He stated that the relationship between him and co-aspirants in the party is cordial and brotherly which reflects the motto of the party, and advised those who mistake such for some endorsement of him by the other aspirants to realize that it is only a transparent primary election that can determine who flies the gubernatorial flag of the party.

He added that far from being a cause of worry to the party, the many aspirants are indeed a boost which gives the the party the necessary robustness to wrest power from the incumbent government.

Mr. Ezeh also commended the Imo State Chairman of the party, Barr. Peter Ezeobi, for his immense wisdom in steering the affairs of the party.
