Owerri Professional league side, Heartland FC risk ban or being banished at the Dan Anyiam Stadium over the unruly conduct of its which beat up a referee in a league match.
Fans of the Owerri club had attacked centre referee Yusuf Garba who officiated the NPFL Match day 18 for “allowing” the visiting team Osun United to equalize a through Tosin Omoyele’s stoppage time goal.
The goal infuriated the irate fans who accused the referee of adding extra minutes after the required extra time had elapsed.
