Following newspaper reports that a particular governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA has been endorsed by some aspirants in the party, some of the guber aspirants in the party have intensified their moves and plots aimed at clinching the party ticket.
A source had told this newspaper that some of the aspirants fumed over the report.
In a bid to douse anxiety in the party over the report, Hon. John Iwuala, the Assistant National Organizing Secretary of the party, South East Zone of the party in a Statement condemned the report by the newspaper house saying there was no such endorsement.
In a move not to be outpaced in the scramble for the governorship ticket of the party, some of the aspirants are no longer resting on their oars.
And in a move to demonstrate its commitment to the governorship contest and clinch the party ticket, an APGA governorship aspirant and fiery critic, Hon. Uche Onyeagocha has moved swiftly to donate vehicles to the 27 local government Secretaries of the party.
According to a statement by Mac Enwere, Chief Press Secretary to Onyeagocha, the former Federal House of Reps member donated 27 air conditioned infinity branded jeeps to the 27 LGA Secretaries
According to Enwere, Hon onyeagucha who formally handed over the air -conditioned jeeps to the state chairman Barr Peter Ezeobi at his hometown Obinze, encouraged the secretaries to be more committed and dedicated and charged them to use the vehicles appropriately especially in projecting the image of the party.
He re-emphasized that APGA will retire Governor Okorocha in 2019.He said APGA is united and more determined to occupy Imo Douglas house come 2019. Hon Onyeagucha also charged the party secretaries to ensure that a credible candidate who has the capacity to lead the party to victory will emerge as the party’s flag bearer. He promised to release another 305 motorcycles to the 305 ward chairmen of the party next week.
In his reaction, APGA state chairman, Barr Peter Ezeobi commended Hon Onyeagucha for having the spirit to make such donation to the party, saying that he has shown that he is really the OPARA APGA. He thanked Hon Onyeagucha for his numerous contributions for the growth of the party and encouraged the secretaries to use the vehicles for the interest of the party.
