Amidst pomp and pageantry, Imo State Commissioner of Finance, Obinna Mbata celebrated his 42nd birthday at Mann Street Primary School, Owerri.
The event was witnessed by almost all members of the expanded Imo State Executive Council made up of Commissioners of various Ministries.
Leading the Commissioners to the event was Commissioner of Happiness and Couples Fulfillment, Mrs. Ogechi Ololo who is Governor Rochas Okorocha’s sister.
Others are Mr. Kenneth Emelu, Mr. Jones Uzoka, Lady Joy Mbawuike, Dr. Iyke Njolu, Mr. Tony Umezuruike, Barr (Mrs) Ngozi Njoku, Dr. (Mrs) Henrietta Jacobs
Chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, APC such as Chris Oguoma, Owerri Zone APC Chairman, Owerri Municipal Council Chairman, Alex Ojiri, Local Government and Ward Executives, Board member, Nigeria Police Service Commission, Lady (Mrs) Gladys Amuneke among others graced the event.
In his remarks, Mbata announced his intention to vie for Owerri Municipal House of Assembly seat in 2019, calling for continued support for the Rescue Mission Government of Governor Rochas Okorocha.
He thanked the mammoth crowd who witnessed the event for their show of solidarity and solidarity.
In his remarks, the State Commissioner for Local Government and Development, Emma Ibediro showered encomiums on Mbata, describing him as a consummate administrator and one who is always focused on his duties assigned to him. He said the Owerri municipal born Finance Commissioner has through his dint of hardwork and consistency endeared himself to his people and members of the State Executive Council.
Chairman of the event and Commissioner, Imo State Judicial Service Commission, Ambassador Jude Agbugba commended the Okorocha administration for his efforts towards making Owerri a modern city through its ongoing urban renewal programme.He commended Governor Rochas Okorocha for deeming Mbata fit and appropriate to serve in his government as Finance Commissioner for a record third time.
The Alumnus of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Mbata was also showered blessings by members of Oha Owerri.
Among those who witnessed the event include the Chairmen of Youths Organizations from the five villages of Owerri led by their Chairman, Mr. Egesi. The President General of Owerri Community Assembly, Chief Felix Ngoka and several other groups who showered praises on the Commissioner and supported his aspiration.
