It will be right and fair for Owerri Zone to produce the next Governor of Imo State. This is the take of a former Secretary to Government of Imo State, Sir Jude Ejiogu.

Ejiogu was quoted to have spoken at Owerri zonal summit held in Owerri on April 3rd, 2018.

“Since the creation of Imo State, Orlu and Okigwe zones have gotten their fair share in the governance of the state, I think, it will be right, fair and just to allow Owerri Zone to produce the next Governor in 2019. No doubt, Okorocha from Orlu zone has played his part in the development of the state, but there is need to allow someone from Owerri Zone to continue to sustain the tempo been established. We are not here to criticize anyone, but, we are here to amend our ways, co-operate with our brothers/sisters, and reach out to our neighbouring zones to realize our targets” he said

According to him, equity is irrelevant if fairness, impartiality and justice were not observed in the governance of the state, adding that until political leaders understand the need to allow peace and tranquillity to reign supreme in the state, the unity of the Imo state may be jeopardized.

He wondered why political leaders see governance as a means to step on others whom they consider weak, when governance was originally designed to instill development in the state, appealing to stakeholders and entire people of Owerri Zone to close ranks so as to realize their dreams.
