A major crackdown ostensibly to weed out non conformists to the governorship ambition of Chief of Staff and Governor Rochas Okorocha son in law, Uche Nwosu may have intensified with the shocking sack of Mr. Steven Odoemena as Transition Committee Chairman of Mbaitoli local Government Area.

He was replaced with Mr. Collins Udorji. Odoemena is a loyalist of Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere who is also aspiring to take over from Okorocha in 2019.

Okorocha had slammed Eze Madumere during a Press Conference at Government House, Owerri vowing that he and his former Secretary to Government of Imo State, Jude Ejiogu will not find peace until they return to him. Ejiogu is also in the race for Imo guber race. He had taken to his facebook page to reply his boss saying no single individual will determine the fate of Imo people in 2019.

This newspaper gathered that the sack of Madumere’s loyalist was done without his consent and knowledge.

Madumere is from Mbaitoli LGA and his major functions as Deputy Governor are alleged to have been taken over by the Chief of Staff and Secretary to the Government of Imo State, George Eche since he declared his interest in the governorship race.

Okorocha had also told journalists during a media parley that he never believed that his Deputy could question his decision after he had appealed to him to go for Owerri zone senate seat. He said the day Madumere removed his muffler and declared his ambition to vie for governorship was the day he knew Madumere was coming for a fight.

The Governor also distanced himself from the Governorship ambition of his in law, Chuks Ololo.

In a related development, there are reports that a major shake up has been carried out in State Development Councils in the local Governments. A source said a major shake up to fine tune the political and administrative wheels of the Government is in sight all aimed at weeding out non conformists and moles in the government not in tune with delivering Nwosu as Imo Governor.
