A legal practitioner and frontline politician in Imo State, Ziggy Azike has joined the Imo governorship contest.
He is vying for the contest on the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.
He told party members at the party office in Owerri that Imo State needs to be reset. He is the 20th governorship aspirant in APGA.
Azike said the State needs to be rescued from the clutches of bad governance which has led to collapse of all institutions in the State.
To party members, he said he is not in the race to make up the number of governorship aspirants in the party.
“ I am not in the governorship race to make up the number. My ambition is not just emerge a candidate of APGA but to become the Governor of Imo State”he said
Azike said gone are the days no established name will become Governor of Imo State, stating that there is need for all governorship aspirants in APGA to work together.
He said Imo State is in dire need of an experienced hand who can restore the State.
In his remarks, the Imo State Chairman of APGA, Peter Ezeobi reechoed APGA’s readiness to hold a free, fair and credible primaries for the governorship aspirants of the party in Imo State.
