The Ward Congresses in Imo APC has continued to open a Pandora’s box as those suspected to be non conformists and tend to have played one ignoble role in Rochas Okorocha’s government during the Congresses have been marked for outright sack or completely shoved aside from the Rescue Mission government.
Governor Okorocha having lost out in the ward Congresses is said to have embarked on a massive raid both in the Executive and legislative arms of government.
Newspaper reports said the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere is on the firing range as moves are said be on to impeach him.
The Deputy Governor teamed up with the dreaded “Allies Forces”in Imo APC which is also made up of Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, Senator Benjamin Uwajumuogu, Senator Osita Izunaso, Senator Hope Uzodinma, Hon. Jasper Azuatalam to outpace Okorocha at the ward Congresses held last Saturday.
The drama that took place on the floor of the Imo State House of Assembly today which saw the removal of member representing Ikeduru State Constituency, Hon. Ogwuwuike as Majority Leader is said to be part of a grand plot to get at the Deputy Governor.
Ogwuike hails from the same Mbaise Federal constituency with Madumere. This newspaper was informed that a thorough investigation panel constituted within the confines of the Government House is saddled with the task of weeding out those considered to be undesirable elements who either aided the “Allied Forces” or were aloof when the Congresses took place.
From the legislature to the Executives, the whirlwind is blowing as some Commissioners and legislators suspected to be sympathetic to the “Allied Forces” may also get the boot on the coming weeks.
In the last one week, not more than three top aides of the Governor have been sacked.
First to go was the Transition Commitee Chairman of Ehime Mbano Local Government Area, Stanley Onwuchuruba followed by the Secretary of Mbaitoli Local Government Area, Mr. Chinagorom Christopher and now Ogwuike the former House Majority Leader.
There has been so much apprehension among some of the lawmakers in the State some of whom were said to have been fidgeting since the “Allied Forces” got victory at the Congresses.
This newspaper was informed that the fear of their political ambition being eclipsed and the cloudy situation surrounding their return tickets to the House has put them on the edge as they await the next political moves of their political master.
The news of the cancellation of the ward Congresses which has been drummed consistently by agents of the government seem not to be calming their fear and apprehension as signals became clear that the National leadership of the party is yet to issue a counter directive on the ward Congresses in Imo State.
