Owerri Catholic Diocese Suspend Protest

The Catholic Church has suspended its planned mass rally earlier scheduled to hold in Owerri, Imo State capital on Tuesday, 21st May, 2018. A message sent to this online newspaper by an official of the Diocese cited security concerns as a major reasons for postponement of the rally.

This newspaper had reported that the Owerri Catholic Diocese had planned a peaceful demonstration to express displeasure over growing insecurity in the country including the killing of two catholic priests in Benue State last month.

Meanwhile the rally now holds on June 5, 2018, the official stated
