A former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha stated this when he visited the country home of the former Governor at his Amaifeke country home in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.

He cited Udenwa’s flagship projects such as the Imo State Secretariat located along Owerri- Port Harcourt Road and the Imo State Teaching Hospital (IMSUTH), Orlu as evidence of Udenwa’s achievements and desire for a better Imo State.

The PDP governorship hopeful however frowned at the rapid rate courses at IMSUTH that have been lost which made medical students to waste eleven years on courses that should not have taken them more than five to six years.

Ihedioha pledged to restore the lost glory of  IMSUTH and other educational institutions in Imo State, promising to reclaim the New Secretariat and revitalize it for optimum utility.

“It is a sweet coincidence that I am today in the country home of His Excellency, Chief Achike Udenwa, my political mentor of sorts in whom I am well pleased. We in PDP are so very proud of him for the legacy he left in Imo State. Nobody can undermine Udenwa’s achievement.

“The Imo State University Teaching Hospital was his brainchild. His aim was fro Imo State to have a world class teaching hospital where tertiary health care would be provided for the people of Imo State and even neighbouring states. It is sad that that vision was overlooked and undermined by this regime.

“I stand here today to assure Orlu people and indeed the entire people of Imo State that when I assume office as the governor of Imo State by the grace of God, I shall restore the Imo State Teaching Hospital to the reflect the virtuous vision of its founding fathers.

“I shall ensure that all lost accreditation of that great citadel of learning are regained. Moreover, the healthcare aspect of the institution shall be revived,” declared Iedioha.

Dignitaries present at the occasion include Rt. Hon. Chuma Nnaji, Hon. Stanford Oyirimba, Hon. Mike Iheanetu, Hon. Ken Agbim, Hon. Bruno Ukoha, Hon. Jasper Ndubuaku, Hon. Mayor Eze, Hon.Benjamin Azike and Hon. Ben Mere.

Two Federal lawmakera Hon. Jones Onyereri and Hon. Jerry Alagbaso were represented at the event. Also, present during the visit  was Dr. Vincent Udokwu, who was Chief Udenwa’s Chief of Staff and Prof. Obioma Iheduru.
