A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Imo State, Chief Emeka Okeke, has enjoined the people of the state to identify with the party.
Okeke described APGA as the only political platform that can remedy the ills created by the incumbent administration.
He made this call while speaking to newsmen in Owerri on his return from Abuja on Saturday.
The former staffer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said his conviction on the inevitable redemption which APGA will bring to Imo people is based on the character, competence and credibility of Mr. Okey Ezeh, a governorship aspirant in the party.
He said Mr. Ezeh is well prepared to govern.
The Oguta-born politician maintained that what Imo really needs at this point is a capable hand who is skilled, tried and tested in financial engineering and prudent management of men and materials like Mr. Okey Ezeh.
He advised all those who intend to participate in the governorship primaries of the party as delegates to place the interest of the state and that of the party over and above some pecuniary gains.
Okeke averred that the success of APGA at the polls will largely depend on the ability of the party to present Mr. Okey Ezeh as its governorship candidate.
Mr. Ezeh, he said, possesses the ideas to transform Imo economically and is generally loved by Imo people.
He also commended the State Chairman of the party, Barr. Peter Ezeobi, for his outstanding leadership which has made APGA the most attractive political party in Imo State today.
