The Ebonyi state chapter of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) has held its state congress without any
rancour .

Pastor Eze Nwachukwu Eze who was the state acting chairman emerged the elected state chairman after the exercise

He scored 775 votes to defeat Bar Patrick Ngbabu who scored only 7 votes. This was announced by the state Congress chairman Bar Tony Odeh from Abuja and witnessed by INEC officils at Nkwegu Ugbala grand arena Abakaliki venue of the congress.

The congress which was conducted under tight security witnessed an unprecedented crowd of APC faithfuls in the state.

The exercise started with the accreditation of 998 state delegates from the 13 LGAs of the state by state congress committee from the National leadership of the party in Abuja.

Apart from the positions of the chairman and woman leader which was won by Ugoeze Marcellina Uburu against Princesses Tonia Adol Awam others were contested through consensus and affirmations.

Some party leaders who were
present include the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, former Governor Martin Elechi, Senator Soni Ogbuorji representing Ebonyi south zone, Sir Edward Nkwegu, Dr Mike Okoro among others.

In his acceptance speech, pastor Nwachuku thanked the party members for their steadfastness.

He described the election as a new dawn and a new leadership that will enthrone a new leadership in Ebonyi state come 2019.

Our reporter gathered that after the
successful congresses, it was jubilation galore for members of the party in the state.
