Media Consultant and former Chairman of Nigeria Union Of Journalists in Imo State, Chief Fidel Onyeneke has expressed shock over the sudden death of the Publisher of the Announcer Express Newspaper, Nze Joe Anyama which occurred recently.


In a statement in Owerri, Chief Onyeneke described the demise of the frontline journalist and renowned publisher as a colossal loss to the Media profession, the Anyama family,and his immediate community.

Chief Onyeneke recalled that Nze Anyama established one of the foremost Newspaper outfits in the South East part of Nigeria even as he made an indelible mark in the journalism profession.

Onyeneke said that the late publisher had great passion for the media profession and practiced it effectively in various organisations, and also in different capacities.

Onyeneke eulogized the leadership role Nze Anyama played towards the unity and development of newspaper Publishing in Imo state as a prominent member of the independent Newspapers Publishers Association (INPA).

Onyeneke while mourning the death of the veteran journalist,stressed the need for an improved work condition for media Practitioners in the country,considering the hazardous nature of their daily job.

He also appealed for a special Health scheme and Insurance benefit for the media workers as a deliberate effort to improve the living conditions of the media Practitioners and their dependent relatives.
