Senator representing Owerri Zone in the senate, Senator Samuel Anyanwu has said it is untrue that Imo State Governor has reached out to Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and himself to adopt Okorocha’s Chief of Staff and son in law, Uche Nwosu as his(Anyanwu’s) Deputy.

Iwuanyanwu is known to be a political godfather of Senator Anyanwu.
In a statement signed by Mr. Kelechi Eke, media aide to the senator, he said the report was unfounded, baseless and malicious.
“Such fallacy could only exist in the warped imaginations of some faceless, divisive individuals who are obviously worried over the rising profile of Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu and the unprecedented goodwill he is enjoying in the minds of majority of Imolites as the Party Primaries and general elections beckon. The purveyors of this falsehood also forgot that Senator Anyanwu and Okorocha’s in-law are in different political parties and the possibility of such joint ticket is out of the question” he said
Eke said Senator Anyanwu’s governorship ambition in 2019, is not only significant but divine coming 40 days after the late former governor of the State, Chief Sam Mbakwe won election to govern the State as the first Executive governor with his achievement laden administration.
Part of the statement reads “There could not be a better and more auspicious time than now in the history of our dear State that God in His infinite wisdom Has chosen to call another SAMUEL to come and restore the lost glory of the State. God is God, God is not man. This divine mandate without doubts is confirmed by the amount of support and endorsements which has changed the political permutations in the governorship race since Senator Anyanwu joined the race.
“It is therefore on this stark realization that some enemies of the State and chronic apostles of politics of attrition have taken it upon themselves to promote and spread unfounded rumours with the intention to diminish the goodwill of Senator Anyanwu and probably bring him to public opprobrium. First was that Governor Rochas Okorocha is sponsoring Senator Anyanwu, now is that the governor is begging that his Son in-law be adopted as a Deputy.
“We wish to make it clear that Senator Anyanwu will not be detered by this needles and distractive invectives, but rather is more than ever before determined to answer to this divine call to salvage the good people of Imo State from the trauma of the present reprehensible government.
“Senator Anyanwu has no time to join issues with anyone as he is more concerned now as a grassroot politician with the duty of convincing the PDP delegates on why he remains the prefered candidate in the PDP guber primaries.

“Let us also place it on record that Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu has before now instructed his office, aides, campaign council and supporters to desist from making hate speeches and smear campaigns. It is the conviction of Senator Anyanwu that power belongs to God and no amount of hate speech or campaign of calumny can change the predestined position of things. The State as we speak needs peace and any act that can further heat up the polity including intra party should be eshewed. A word is enough for the wise” the statement concluded.
