The political nerve war between Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha and his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere has grown beyond proportion as the latter has insisted that he is not in for any form of reconciliation with his boss.
Madumere had pitched tenth with the “Allied Forces” a group of politicians in Imo State chapter of the All Progressive Congress APC opposed to Okorocha.
The group had swept the APC Ward and Local Government Congresses in the State and Madumere was fingered as one of the key leaders of the group that made the group to record its successes.
News had hit the social media and some Owerri based local tabloids that Okorocha’s family members were brokering a truce and reconciliation between Madumere and the Imo Governor. A socio political group championing the quest for Owerri zone to produce the next governor of Imo State, Olu Owerri had ruled out the reconciliation saying there is no basis for it.
Madumere reinforced the position of the group when in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Uche Onwuchekwa described the report of possible reconcilation as as a mere figment of imagination of the peddlers.
He expressed astonishment over the rumour, saying he only got to know about this through barrage of calls and text messages by concerned Imo citizens. He however described such move as unnecessary and uncalled for, as he submitted that there is nothing on the table to call for such reconciliation.
He further explained that he had only disagreed with his boss and friend of many years, Governor Okorocha on principle, with the resolve to pursue his goal of impacting positively on the citizenry in concert with best leadership practices
