There was no attack on the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Acho Ihim and the Majority Leader, Hon. Lugard Osuji.
This is contained in a statement by an aide to the Speaker, Marcel Ekwezuo who in a statement said the report was untrue and handiwork of political detractors.
The Statement reads in full:

As it is expected, my attention was drawn to the above false and fictitious time wasting article immediately it appeared on various internet portals.
And true to my idiosyncrasy, I have restrained myself from any rash and or irrational response(s) especially when any vexatious hate speech (es) emanated from a nincompoop.
I have delayed a bit in issuing this release because of my proclivity for investigations which happily revealed identity of the satanic author as a mere fop whose names are not worthy to be mentioned since he was seeking for recognition to enable him collect his eluding N200,000 monthly stipend from his pay masters – ndi agburu ojoo!
Be that as it may, I state as follows:
report of the attack on the immediate past President of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Africa Region (CPA) the Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, *Rt. Hon (Dr.) Acho Ihim* and Majority Leader of the House, *Hon Lugard Osuji* on Thursday May 10, 2018 on their way to Port Harcourt is false in its entirety.
Imo youths, especially those of Okigwe, Owerri and Orlu extraction are responsible and most respected crop of individuals nationwide who had never contemplated and did not in any form or guise attack their beloved brothers – Rt. Hon Ihim and Lugard. If there was any such attack, it existed only as figments of the imaginations of the hearts of the miscreant who penned the satanic false report.
As eye witness of the proceedings of the Imo State House of Assembly last Thursday, I state without fear of contradiction that there was no mention of the name of His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Imo state, *Prince Eze Madumere* during proceedings of the House on that day, let alone any impeachment move against him by any Honourable member.
Such evil wishes emanate only from the hearts, mouths and pen of dunderheads like the one who wrote the satanic reports.
Such people do not wish our amiable Deputy Governor well as all they are trying to do is to remind the house of the need to have our beloved brother impeached from office as a result of their perceived altercation between him with the number one citizen of the state.
Not even a single aide of Mr. Speaker and or that of the Majority Leader was attacked let alone any of them sustaining any injury.
Nobody has approached the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker on the alleged attack except well meaning Imolites who called to authenticate or otherwise invalidate the satanic report.
There was neither an attack, beating or hospitalization of anybody in respect of any phantom impeachment plot against His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Imo state, Prince Eze Madumere.
I therefore urge the general public and Imolites in particular to discountenance the report as it is false, satanic and baseless.
