Ahead of 2019 general elections in Imo state ,Senator Athan Achonu and Chief Macdonald Ogoke have been endorsed for governor of Imo state and Ehime Mbano Assembly seat respectively.
Groups under the aegis of Ehime Mbano Youths Congress ( E M Y C) and Ehime Mbano Okada operators respectively in their solidarity press releases described duo aspirations of the duo as a welcome and healthy development for Imo state and Ehime Mbano in particular.
They added that while Senator Achonu works towards the transformation of Imo state as the Governor, Chief Ogoke will assist him with the necessary legislative backing for the collective interest of Imo state and Ehime Mbano.
The youths of Ehime Mbano in a communique signed by its National President, Engr. Okechukwu Anugom maintained that the entire youths of Ehime Mbano LGA at home and in diaspora are strongly behind the aspirations senator Achonu and chief Ogoke as they will do everything possible to ensure their victories during the party primaries and general elections proper, stressing that both Achonu and ogoke have all it takes to recover IMO state and Ehime Mbano from bad leadership and representation.
According to Engr Anugom,” we , the members and leaders of Ehime Mbano Youths Congress wish to officially and formally declare our support and endorsement of senator Athan Achonu’s governorship aspiration come 2019, the entire youths of Ehime Mbano LGA will do everything possible to support physically and financially the realization of that aspiration come 2019 because senator Achonu will reposition IMO state for better and we are proud of him.”
Anugom further noted that” for the purpose of records, senator Athan Achonu has the capacity to turn Imo state around for better with his purposeful leadership style.
” The group also endorsed Chief Macdonald Ogoke for house of Assembly. We are tired of sending contractors to represent us at the house of Assembly, come 2019, with the support of our leader , senator Athan Achonu Ehime Mbano will get it right by electing a core Democratic like Ogoke to provide the home front support for senator Achonu come 2019″
Speaking during a solidarity visit to ogoke by the Ehime Mbano Okada Union Co operative , Hon Francis Ukachukwu , chairman and Hon Christopher Iwuagwu, leader promised to stand by senator Achonu and chief Ogoke by mobilizing the necessary grassroots support for their aspirations come 2019.
They insisted that the duo represents new horizons for repositioning of IMO state and Ehime Mbano state constituency for better results.
In his remarks while presenting personnel protective kits to the members of the groups, chief Ogoke expressed profound gratitude to them for identifying his aspiration and that of his leader, senator Athan Achonu.
He pointed out senator Achonu has developed the blueprint that will change the economic status of IMO state positively, arguing that he is the chosen one that will salvage IMO state and promised to carry their solidarity message to senator Achonu.
Ogoke however advised the Okada operators to be careful and obey all traffic laws while driving.
He also charged them to mobilize their members to obtain their PVCs in order to participate actively in the forthcoming general elections.
