Igbo Women In Diaspora Visit School In Imo Community

A frontline Non-profit organization “Igbo Women in Diaspora” with its headquarters in Los Angeles, California, United States of America,  USA have reiterated its readiness to reach out to all Igbo Women Organizations and compassionate individuals across over the globe to join them to take care of the less privileged children and provide protein/milk to schools  to enhance the life of children in Igbo land.

The call was made at Central school Nekede, Owerri by the president of the Association, Lady (Mrs) Eunice Onwunyi (Nee of Ofurum) at an event anchored by one of its founding members, Engr. Princess Patricia Ndidi Amadi (Nee Eke), an Illustrious Daughter of Umuoma, Nekede Autonomous Community in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria who presented series of gift items and FAN MILK products to the pupils.

Speaking at the event, Prince Chukwuma N. Eke stated  that Central School Nekede was chosen among other primary schools in Imo State based on the efforts by Engr. (Mrs) Amadi for approval. He hinted the core aim of the organization which is aimed at  fostering a comfortable learning environment for the children. He also added that the organization is working very strongly to ensure that every school in Igbo Land ia well equipped with the resources they need to make  students well nourished.

In his remarks,  the Traditional ruler of Umuoma Nekede, HRH Eze Morrison Soronnadi Eke maintained that such empowerment programme established by Igbo women in Diaspora would give a facelift to the school. Eze Eke harped on the need for the organization to also focus on protecting the cultural lives of Igbos in the Diaspora

In his vote of thanks by Mrs Emelia Anokam, the Headmistress of Central School Nekede appealed to Igbo women in Diaspora to cushion the pressing needs of the school which include security, fencing of the school premises, re-roof of the leaking roofs, provide school van and water facilities.
