The Allied Forces, a powerful of group of politicians in Imo State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC have scored another major victory in its fierce scramble for the soul of the party in Imo State.
At the APC national secretariat, Abuja, Mr. Hilary Eke who was elected at the State congress was sworn in among 35 others as Imo State Chairman of the party. The swearing in of Mr. Eke finally places the entire party structure in the grip of the “Allied Forces” in the party who also control the party at the ward and local government levels.
This has put spanners in the works for Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha who has tried albeit in vain to get the party leadership to quash the outcome of congress in the State. Top chieftains of the group such as Imo State Deputy Governor, Eze Madumere were in attendance at the party secretariat to witness the swearing in of Mr. Eke for a second tenure.
Speaking to journalists at the end of the inauguration,Eke thanked the party leadership for reposing his avowed trust in his leadership. He stressed that he will alongside other members of the State executives ensure another round of victory for Imo APC in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.
