2018 Budget: South East Senators Shocked Over Cut In Allocation For Enugu Airport

South East Senators have expressed shock over reported cut in the 2018 budget allocation for the terminal of Enugu Airport.

Leader of the South East Senate Caucus, Senator Enyinnya Abaribe said they gathered that an allocation of N2 Billion naria put up by the two aviation committees of the senate and the House of Representatives were slashed to N500 million.

Abaribe said the caucus will hold an emergency meeting of all South East lawmakers to unravel who effected the cut. He said no right thinking Igbo man would support any cut in allocation for projects in the South East region.

“We are committed and determined to find out who made the cut” he said

The Senator said the caucus lobbied for the Enugu Airport Terminal to be increased to N3.5 billion until the Ministry of Aviation revealed to the caucus that what they had was an envelope which could not go beyond the N2 billion allocation
