However of the three senators in Imo State, two are of the APC and strongly aligned to the “Allied Forces”, a group of politicians in the party opposed to the Governor. They are Senator Benjamin Uwajumuogu and Senator Hope Uzodinma.

Acting Chairman of the party in the State loyal to the Governor, Chris Oguoma was quoted to have said that the APC in Imo State do not have ward, Local government and State Executives.

“In Imo State, we have statutory delegates and the main delegates. The main delegates are the party officers at the state, local government and ward officers, while the statutory delegates are senators, former senators, current and former House of Representatives members, former and current speakers of the state House of Assembly, among others” he was reported to have said.

However, the Allied Forces, a group of politicians is likely rely on the main delegates who are the party officers of the party from the ward, local government and state levels having won at the congresses.

The Okorocha faction had insisted that there was no congress in Imo, a claim disputed by the Allied Forces which produced Hilary Eke who emerged the State Chairman at the State Congress and party officers at the Local Government and ward levels.
