A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC and Former Member representating Ohaukwu/ Ebonyi federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Peter Oge-Ali has said that the Igbos race have fully identified with the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The lawmaker who stated this in an
interview with newsmen in Abakaliki said
that the Igbos have realised their mistakes in the 2015 general elections and that the APC was the path to get Nigeria’s presidency in 2023.
“During the 2015 presidential elections, the APC received less than 200 votes in the South East zone but the people have presently seen
the importance of linking to the centre” he said
He said that voting for the APC in 2019 would give the Igbos bargaining power for the 2023 presidency and warned the people against lvoting for parties with regional dimensions.
Oge-Ali urged the Igbos not to vote for parties that assume regional dimensions because the possibility of getting the presidency in 2023 is real.
“Our people should massively vote for President Muhammdu Buhari for a second term in office because he is determined to correct the
anomalies that have bedeviled the country” he said
He noted that Buhari should be supported to complete his two term in office because he has implemented policies which would sanitise the county such as signing the Not-Too-Young To Run law, financial autonomy to the legislature and the judicary, among others.
“I urge the the National Assembly to cooperate with executive arm of government to ensure effective legislation and implementation of
government policies and programmes” he said
Oge-Ali remarked that Nigerians should realise that squabbles are
present even in developed countries but enjoined both arms of government to cooperate instead of engaging in frequent rancour.
