A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governorship aspirant in Imo State, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha has said the need for Imo State to have a governor that is sincere, trustworthy, who will work for the people were some of the factors that made him to join the Imo governorship race for a second time.
The Former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives had emerged the PDP governorship flag-bearer in 2015 losing at the governorship polls to Governor Rochas Okorocha of the All Progressive Congress.
Ihedioha who spoke at Owerri Municipal where he consulted and interacted with party chieftains and members stated Imo State is in dire need of a quality leader and this propelled his conviction to run for the top job in Imo State again in order to salvage the sufferings of the people. He described the situation in Imo State as embarrassing and shameful which has made non Imolites and outsiders to laugh at anyone that comes from the State. He called for partnership with the people of the State.
“What governance requires is a man with contentment, a sincere man, an accomplished man who will not use the common wealth of the people to fight them rather than work for them” he said
The former lawmaker assured that he would repair the State by offering quality leadership, hardwork and sincerity of purpose. He called leaders and members of the PDP in Owerri Municipal to look towards one direction as the 2019 election draws near.
